Out on the Gay/Lac La Belle Road, not too far from Lake Linden, is Brunette Park. It’s actually one of my favorite little parks to go for picnics, especially when our boys and grandkids were younger. Deb & Ron Simons enjoy it, also as it’s never usually overcrowded with people. They hit it on the right day recently when the wind was blowing with a little chill in the air, but Deb said the water was beautiful. That’s usually the case when you have an off-shore breeze, it brings the warmer surface water in, so you’re then able to stay in Lake Superior longer. It’s quite refreshing actually! You can see from Deb’s photos what a beautiful spot this is to unwind and relax.

Over on the eastern end of Lake Superior, we join MI Playground as they go out exploring shipwrecks on the St. Marys River. The lead-in says: “We are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the St. Marys River for a day exploring 5 shallow water shipwrecks around DeTour and Drummond Island. These shipwrecks mainly sit in shallow water and are mostly accessible by a paddled vessel. Today to cover more ground we are exploring by boat.”

Nice set, Deb & Ron!
I was an excellent
swimmer back in the
day and that would be
me in the first pic.
Good for Ron!
Nice video too, but I’d
be a little leery about
swimming to close to
those wrecks. One slip
and something could
come crashing down.

Such a beautiful place to spend the
day. It's always nice when the water
is warm enough to swim in. It was
Great Sand Bay yesterday, yet another
beautiful place to spend the day. I
love our peaceful corner of the U.P.

There are a ton of gorgeous lil' spots U.P. here!

Yippee Deb and Ron!

Northern Lights should be spectacular tonight.
There is nothing like seeing them in real
life/time. BUT when you can't, and you live in way
too much light pollution, LIVE cams on you tube
work wonders. I was all over the world last night.
From Finland, Canada, Maine, Scotland, the U.K.,
so on and so forth....it was so awesome....look on
Space Weather DOT Com...that'll give you the
Auroral Oval (it's big...way cool). The gas in the
atmosphere gives you different colors. It is
Mother Nature's absolute jewels.
