Debbie Jarve said she spends as much time with her kids and grandkids as she can, because time goes by way too fast. She recently spent a beach day with her grands, at Brunette Park on the Gay/Lac La Belle road. The kiddos got right into the fun on the shores of Lake Superior enjoying some of the last days of summer before school starts here in the Keweenaw. Playing in the waves, exploring on the shore, wrapping UP in warm towels, catching frogs and enjoying picnic treats. Summer fun...it doesn’t get much better than this!

Visit Keweenaw has their latest Crossing Place video out, featuring Keweenaw Beaches with the Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition (KORC). We join Gina Nicholas from the (KORC), along with Mark Ahlborn from the Calumet Keweenaw Sportsman’s Club, at Bete Gris Beach and Roadside Park as they talk about all the different Keweenaw beaches. The lead-in says: “Basalt, cobbles, and soft sand - the Keweenaw’s beaches are as varied as the seasons themselves. Late summer brings swims, barefoot kids, and sunsets that linger, while fall, winter, and spring reveal new sides of Superior’s shoreline. These places stay special thanks to community care and Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition (KORC), who work to keep access open and beaches clean. Different beaches and shorelines, yet tied together by the people who love them.”

Fun pictures. There and great sand bay
are my favorite places to swim. It
always depends on which way the wind
is blowing. Last week we were out
there and the water was beautiful for
swimming. Then came the cold snap to
ruin it. Glad you guys had fun.

End of summer pics;
enjoy while they last!
Nice mom/pop video,
but I didn’t see one
son of a beach.
