Laurie Bashaw said the day she took these photos, was a perfect morning for an early morning walk along the lakeshore in Marquette. The sun didn’t show UP, but the clouds were beautiful, with a little rain, which Laurie said was OK, too, as she loves the cooler morning for walking. I agree with her, I prefer cool morning walks over hot, humid afternoons for walking. Cloudy days like this also give you picture perfect lighting for a wonderfully different look than what you get on sunny days. And what about those flowers. One of Laurie’s friends said they’re all along the runners trail on the lakeshore, absolutely beautiful!

In the first shot, I think I can see rain falling
about half-way along the breakwater. I've seen the
same thing on the wide horizon of Lake Huron in
front of our cabin.

I'm looking forward to being up north over the
Labor Day weekend. This year, Labor Day falls on
September 1st, my late father's birthday. This was
the case on his 79th birthday, and he, my mom, my
brother and I walked the Mackinac Bridge. I plan
to do the bridgewalk in his memory this year.
