It’s a deer extravaganza with bucks from the L’Anse area and fawns from the Keweenaw. We start out with two buck photos, showing off their velvety antlers, snapped by Nancy Haun. Impressive racks they both have already, but Nancy hopes these two bucks will grow until next year, to see what magnificent racks they will have then.

The third photo was taken on Tami Anderson’s morning walk. Those two spotted fawns don’t seem alarmed with Tami snapping a photo of them, looks like they’re just as curious about her as she was of them. Nice to see them still thriving.

Jean Dessellier captured a nice shot of one of the fawns that have been visiting her back yard. She said she so loves watching the fawns and their mamas and she also remarked how they are getting used to her, as she can actually step out on her deck to take pictures and they don’t run off! They sure are getting big now!

pics are gorgeous...that vid almost had me in
tears.."We leave healthy snacks for the critters to
thank them for sharing the land with us"....too bad
EVERYONE didn't think that way...we'd sure be in a
better world.

Funnily enough, I saw 4 deer walk by in my
neighbor's yard, here in the suburbs downstate.
They are graceful animals, but I'm afraid my
thoughts go to them eating stuff from the garden,
and to car-deer accidents. Partly our own fault
for having so many housing developments.

Donna, I haven't watched the video so I don't know
what critters they were feeding. But it's better
for wildlife if we don't feed them human food or
get them to associate humans with food. I am all
for letting wildlife have their space with no
human bothering them.
