Impressive clouds captured by Fred Koski over at Fred Koski Photography, as he was enjoying a recent evening on the shores of Lake Superior. There must have been a little squall along with the clouds, as you can see a small rainbow appeared in the second photo. Beauty over the Big Lake is always a plus!

The third photo was snapped by Kevin Dunham, from the Tourist park overlooking Lake Superior. He was able to capture one bolt of lightning from a recent little storm that blew through the Munising area. I love how it illuminated the water on the left shoreline.

Today’s video from Alexis Dahl is highlighting the Ruppe Block in Calumet, MI, which is in dire need of repairs. The lead-in says: “The Ruppe Block is a beautiful piece of Michigan and American history, but without your help, it may not be around much longer. Here's how we can help save this place, together. For the next month, all of the ad revenue this video makes from YouTube will go toward the Save the Ruppe Block project. So if you want to participate but can't donate yourself, watching and sharing this is a great way to help!
Special thanks to Jeff Ratcliffe and Leah Polzien for the tour of the Ruppe Block, and for helping me understand what's been going on with this project.”

Hi
Beautiful photos; the first one is my favorite. The
third one was hopefully taken from a safe place. My
first thought was "great shot" but my second one was
"Isn't the photographer the tallest object on the
beach-yikes!"

By George L. (Yooperinct) on Friday, August 22, 2025 - 09:20 am:

That was my thought too, Kathyl. I wouldn't have wanted to be strolling on the beach at the moment of that lightning strike either! Yikes is right!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, August 22, 2025 - 09:49 am:

Holy smokes! What a lightning strike.
I wouldn't have wanted to be there.
The first two are beautifully calming.
