When I saw these photos from Judy Byykkonen, I actually took a deep breath and sighed a peaceful, Ahhh. My mood went immediately to calm and serene. Judy said it best, when she said, “We are so blessed with rivers and lakes all around us here in the Keweenaw.” She added that it was such a great morning for a paddle on the Sturgeon River in the Chassell area. Out on the water with friends is the perfect way to clear your head of all the worldly troubles and just enjoy our freedom. Check out that kayak launch in Chassell. What a great idea for safely getting in and out of the river. No fear of tipping over and getting soaked before you even get started.

There really is so much to see and do in the U.P., even on a rainy day, you just have to be prepared with the right gear like the folks in today’s video from Cory J Adventures. The lead-in to the video says: “Join us as we explore 3 of the most breathtaking natural attractions in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! From the iconic Tahquamenon Falls to the scenic views at Miners Castle Rock and the peaceful beauty of Wagner Falls, this travel guide showcases the must-see spots in the U.P.”

WOW...absolutely breathtaking!

And who do you think wore those antlers before they
decorated the little camp? They are huge and too
big for a white tail!

And those waterlilies are beautiful...how do they
smell? They look like they'd be perfumed
beautifully.

Cool vid..people are hitting the memorable spots!

More great pictures from Judy. I love
that little camp. So peaceful looking.
And the water lilies are so pretty,
and I agree with Donna. I bet they
smell heavenly. I totally love the
smell of rivers and lakes anyway. So
outdoorsy. I'm hoping the summer
weather goes on through October. And
then fall can last until the end of
December. That'd be perfect.

Beautiful set and
peaceful, indeed!
Nice video too!
Too bad it was
raining, but that
didn’t stop them..

Hi
I think that style of kayak launch can be used by
people with mobility issues--nice.

Of the three UP attractions, I may nor may not
have been to Wagner Falls; I recall going to one
waterfall outside of Munising, but I can't be sure
it was that one. The last time I visited Miner's
Castle, it still had two "turrets", so it's been a
while. The eastern UP is a day trip from Cheboygan
so I've been to Tahquamenon Falls a lot. Had I
been there, I'd have told them to skip the gorge
view--too many steps.
