Today’s unique nighttime photos from the Soo Locks come to us from Madison Scheriff. Her Aunt Donna MacIntosh encouraged her to send her photos in...thanks, Donna! Madison said while spending some time in Sault Ste. Marie recently, she got to see a few cool boats go through. One of the thousand footers, Stewart J. Cort, which sailed right next to the saltie, Murgash – Bulgarian ship, both in the dark of night, pretty cool. They also saw the Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin during daytime hours. I’d call that a successful boat watching get-away!
Now we join The Restless Viking on a boat drip down the St. Marys River, starting 74 miles down near Detour and the Detour Reef Lighthouse. That area near Drummond Island is a pretty dangerous place for ships and the lighthouse marks the mouth of the St. Marys River, the only natural waterway connecting Lake Huron to Lake Superior. Chuck and Poppins take us along the River with bits of history sprinkled in on the voyage, too. Grab your lifejacket and lets go boating!

Hi I've been to the Soo many times, and I've visited Drummond Island a few times. But most of the video was new to me, and quite interesting.
Alex, there are enough tourist traps in the Soo that, if there was a market for bagels & lox, there'd likely be such an establishment.
