It’s definitely a fun time of year when the wildlife is raising their young ones here in the Keweenaw. Jean Dessellier said it was a sweet surprise one evening recently when these two visited their Lake Linden yard. Thankfully the cute little fawn is sticking close to Mom. That Doe is most likely one that visits Jean’s yard all winter long, so she knows it’s safe to be there with her little one. I hope she’s teaching it about the road and to stay clear when cars are going by.

We’re taking a hike with MI Playground, at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. The lead-in to their video says: “We are at Tahquamenon Falls for a 6-mile scenic hike that starts at the Lower Falls, goes around the island and then along on the River Trail to the Upper Falls. In 2022, a bridge was installed at Lower Falls so our hike started on the island inside of Lower Falls and then went up the River Trail to Upper Falls. We ended our hike with a stop at Tahquamenon Falls Brewery”.

Nice set with a couple
of deer derriere shots.
I wonder if their thinking;
“Does this tail make my
butt look big?”
And thanks for the hike
to one of my favorite
destination’s.
Good job, all!!! Thanks.

Hi
It looks like that trail is what a friend called
an "R & R" trail---roots & rocks. I have never
hiked it. Once, in the winter, I started to try
to cross-country ski from the upper to the lower
falls, but the trail needed tighter turns than my
skiis could accomodate. Plus I wasn't sure what I
was getting into or how long it would take. So I
turned back.

That bridge across to the island at the lower
falls is great. I had never been over there before
and it's a beautiful hike.

Deer are so beautiful. I never get
tired of seeing them. They haven't
visited our yard this year, but we're
not feeding them. I don't like visits
from bears. Jean is very lucky. These
pictures are beautiful.
