We’re back here again, with Tami Anderson to do a bit of exploring around the Redridge Steel Dam near Freda. Tami’s photos show the historic steel dam on the Salmon Trout River, one of only three steel dams ever built in the United States and the largest of its kind, at 1,006 feet long and 74 feet tall. The dam created a 600-million gallon reservoir that was used to supply water to the local stamp mills back when the mines were in operation. Tami commented that the area around the dam is beautifully forested, which you can see some of in the old trestle photos.

We have a nice compilation of video and photos from a channel called, Yours Truly, giving us a variety of scenes including waterfalls, lighthouses, old growth white pines and wild flowers in the Upper Peninsula.

What a beautiful set!
The greenery is so
vivid, it hurts my eyes.
And the video was like
a dream.

May I Never Fall Asleep.
If I am Dreaming,
May I Never Wake.”

Beautiful pictures! My dad fished that
river a lot. He also fished the
Graveraet near Freda. That's such a
great area. I've only investigated
down there once. It's very beautiful
down there.

Alex...you should see it out there. It is so green
and so lush and so thick...Cindy took me for a spin
out past the house I lived in as a kid...it's been
a long time since I've been out that way...holy
wha..it is grown in..I can't believe how green and
gorgeous it is out there now.

We've also been out to Redridge. Some places out
there look like Deliverance. Others are so
beautiful...
