If you’ve been here for a while, you know that Kevin Dunham has an eye for great photos, along with the patience to sit and wait for those perfect shots. For these photos, Kevin was out from four in the morning, until around eight, storm chasing to capture these lightning bolts at Sand Point in Munising, overlooking Lake Superior. He said he’s never seen the sky turn these colors like this and I have to say, I’ve never seen a lightning bolt pierce through several clouds like this, lighting them UP as it shoots through them. Then the squiggly line bolt and the bright flash reflecting in the waters of Superior. Absolutely stunning and to have captured them at those precise moments in time... fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to capture them and then sharing them with us so willingly, Kevin.

We have a new lesson from Alexis Dahl about what's believed to be the Most Ancient Rock in America. She says this about today’s video: “Just outside the small town of Watersmeet, Michigan, is an unassuming rock outcrop on the side of the highway. It includes the oldest known rock in the entire United States, at about 3.6 billion years old. Here's how scientists figured that out. Special thanks to Dr. Ross Salerno for reviewing this script for accuracy, and to Dr. Bill Cannon for the coordinates to track down the Watersmeet gneiss.”
