I always like to hear that Donna MacIntosh was “sprung” from her apartment, because that means cruising photos from around the area. This time her friend Cindy (HI LOU!) and Donna’s sister, Linda made up the touring team and they enjoyed seeing a plethora of gorgeous flowers and always a fun sight, the East Hancock Stairway Park on the Hancock side of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. It’s beautiful to see the Keweenaw in bloom once again!
Donna’s bottom photo is a screen shot from the Lift Bridge - Michigan Tech Webcam. Donna said she heard a ship’s horn from her apartment and jumped on the Tech webcam to check out what it was and she spotted the Pearl Mist Cruise Ship going under the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. After doing a little research, she found out it was coming from Marquette and heading to Thunder Bay Ontario that day. Nice catch there, Donna!
We have a new “Crossing Place” video from Visit Keweenaw, about the Keweenaw Waterway. The lead-in says: “The name “Keweenaw” comes from the Anishinaabe word for the crossing place - a connection that still holds true today. These waters once carried copper and commerce, but now they offer something just as valuable: perspective. From paddleboards to pontoons, the Keweenaw Waterway gives access to stunning views, quiet moments, and stories written in shoreline and sky. Join Captain Jason Swain of Keweenaw Boat Tours as he navigates this water route - a place where history lingers, beauty surrounds you, and every crossing brings you closer to the heart of the Keweenaw.”

It was pure awesome to get out of here, indeed! The flower gardens everyone has is just stunning, and thanks Janie..I always wondered what those beautiful bushes were. My Gram had a huge one in the corner of her yard.
I love those Crossing Place videos!
I always hear the Ranger when it goes out, and heard this ship's horn, and knew it was someone different. My niece is into planes and ships, and she found the name and destination. (Thanks Mads)!!
Another very nice set, Donna! It must be nice to get out and about especially this time of year when all the flowers are in bloom. Entertaining video too!

Good days and bad, Donna. Just when you think it's maybe getting better, you have a really bad day. But, this too shall pass. Thanks for asking.
