Judy Byykkonen goes on daily adventures with her “girls”, to get them exercise out in the fresh air. If you’ve been following the Pasty Cam for a while, you know her “girls” are her four-legged companions, Zelda, Minnie and Gizelle, who you get to see together in the bottom photo. On this recent adventure, they discovered the wildflower, Creeping Veronica in the first two photos. Veronica is a ground cover and quite delightful! Judy captured some of the newly sprouted Lupines, too. It’s so nice to see them out along the sides of the road when I’m walking. And her last flower photo is a promise for the coveted thimbleberries to come! Of course Judy isn’t telling where she photographed those blossoms, as it’s usually a secret patch, so you don’t want to broadcast where they’re located.

We go to the head of Keweenaw Bay for today’s video from Nancy Haun, who recorded another great day at the Bishop Baraga Shrine. She gives us a tour with the flowers and other decorations that adorn the grounds, along with some additions that may take place in the future.

It's so wonderful to see flowers and
greenery instead of snow, lol.
Beautiful photos, Judy. They're so
pretty and I just love when the
lupines are out and prettying up the
sides of the roads. They're definitely
one of my favorites, along with the
poppies, which I've had the pleasure
of seeing in my yard for a couple of
weeks now. How I love this time of
year.

What a beautiful and
colorful set!!!
“Even Solomon in all
his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.”
(Matthew 6:29)
And thanks, Nancy for
that beautiful stroll.

Beautiful flower pics, and transfer some of those
thimbleberries home...they grow like weeds and grow
real easy. The Keweenaw is covered in
Thimbleberries...take some home and replant and
good luck, cause they grow and grow and grow, and I
have a friend up north, that's always chopping down
thimbleberries...they are everywhere!!

Psst, Mary,
Check the metadata in Judy's original photo.
It might have the GPS coordinates for the Thimbleberry patch.

Lupines are my favorite. Judy did indeed catch some early ones.

And thank you, Nancy at the Shrine.
