We get to see some still shots of train action on the LS&I Ore Dock in Marquette, courtesy of Nancy Haun. Her first two photos are the final shove onto the Ore Dock. The third photo is the shove move onto the Ore Dock by #1004 & #1012 and below them are the loaded “gons” (gondola cars) holding limestone awaiting their next job.
Those bottom two photos show a moment frozen in time, watching the summer blend of limestone being unloaded from the Kaye E. Barker, who is at the Ore Dock there in Marquette Harbor. A few different shots that we don’t always get to see!
Nancy’s video is the Canadian National #5453 just arriving back in L’Anse on a morning recently. Nice to see all those cars pulled into town and hear the clickety-clack of the wheels on the tracks.
