H Donn de Yampert recently spent some time relaxing and camping at McLain State Park Campground. He found some interesting driftwood tree trunks, washed clean of all the bark by Lake Superior and the waves it splashes on the shoreline. He also enjoyed a few sunsets while there, which is always a treat when staying at McLain Park, as this campground is known for the perfect place to capture glowing sunsets. The sunset wasn’t the only thing glowing though, as you can see from Donn’s bottom photo. I’m assuming that’s his “home away from home” all lit UP there. It looks like a great place to enjoy a good book before heading off to dreamland on the shores of Lake Superior. Perfect ending to a relaxing day!
We have a tragic story that I had never heard before, from the Restless Viking here today. It’s about the worst maritime disaster that ever happened on the Great Lakes, and to think it happened while the ship was still tied to the dock. Unthinkable! This is the tragic story of the SS Eastland, a disaster that more passengers died on, than the total passengers who lost their lives on the Titanic. Join them for some Great Lakes history.
