On one of the recent sunny days here in the Keweenaw, Judy Byykkonen joined her friend, Deb for a peaceful afternoon, kayaking around Rice Lake. Her friend took her over on the east side of the lake, to Little Rice Lake where the water is calm and still and the lily pads are everywhere in the slough there. Looking at Judy’s photos of their adventure, you can just about hear the quiet and feel the peacefulness of the day. What a great way to catch up with a friend and enjoy the tranquility of a beautiful sunny afternoon
If you’re looking for a walking adventure through the woods to a peaceful pond, check out today’s video short about the Keweenaw Land Trust’s first Nature Preserve. Visit Keweenaw takes us off the Copper Country Trail National Byway, to walk through the Paavola Wetlands, just north of the Quincy Mine. The area is bursting with Spring beauty!
