Donna MacIntosh was “sprung” from her “cell” (apartment) this past week by her good friend, Cindy (HI LOU!). When this happens, she always has her camera in hand and looks for photos to capture and share. What she noticed right away, was the different tints and shades of green that are popping UP all over the Keweenaw with the new leaves coming out on the trees. Donna wondered how many colors of green can we see?

Not only the greens were showing their colors, but the fruit trees are filled to capacity with white blooms, too. I’m not certain if the ones in Donna’s photos are cherry blossoms or apple blossoms, but boy, oh boy, these trees are loaded. I’m hoping that means a good year for cherries and apples, because last year was not.

Visit Keweenaw has another new Crossing Place video. This one is titled: Grown in the Copper Country – From the Ground, Farmer’s Market Collective, with Gabriela Solorzano, Market Manager filling us in about the local Farmer’s Markets in the Keweenaw. The lead-in says: From the Ground Farmers Market Collective isn’t just feeding locals - their farmers, artisan bakers, crafters, and musicians are fueling the Keweenaw vibe. Fresh food, art, and community spirit come together at markets across the seasons in the Keweenaw, where visitors can taste what’s growing and meet the folks behind it. Come hungry, leave connected!”

There are just tons of green...it's truly amazing,
and it was Cindy Lou that brought that up!

BTW...Foxy Roxy is still visiting her...he comes up
on the deck...she tells him "I'm throwing it down"
and he runs down to the spot where she throws the
peanuts, so he gets them first!! lol

I got SPRUNG!!

And this is why green is my favorite
color. There's nothing like springtime
green and the beautiful blossoms on
the fruit trees. Happy you got out to
witness the beauty, Donna.

But, now I’m hungry.

Hi
These late May/early June photos sure point out the
differences between the UP & downstate. I'd guess we
had the bloom I see in these photos in late
April/early May. Right now the iris are in bloom
(and the thistles are flourishing, feh).

Humans can distinguish millions of shades of all colors but it can distinguish hundreds of thousands MORE shades of green than blue or red.
