I always enjoy the photos posted by Jeff Dennis, he’s always finding interesting scenes and critters to photograph. He starts us off today with a view out at the Lake Linden-Hubbell School Forest, with the tall pines lining a path further into the woods. Next we see two Sandhill Cranes in the Mount Calvary Cemetery just outside of Lake Linden. Someone commented that they wondered if that’s what is digging up the surface of a number of graves there. I thought it was skunks digging for grubs, but who knows for sure!

Check out Fritz with the Bootjack sunset and a seaplane flying by, too. Talk about perfect timing to capture a unique scene with a smiling Fritz, too! That beaver Jeff photographed was out at Little Traverse. I suppose it’s looking for somewhere to make a dam. They really are industrious workers. There’s one that’s been trying to dam up a culvert on the Rice Lake Road where I walk each day. I was trying to keep up with taking it apart every day, but after being gone for a few days, it’s completely plugged, so I notified the county Road Commission and they’re going to have someone trap the beaver and move it somewhere else, so it doesn’t cause a flood on the road, with a blocked culvert.

Last, but not least, that tiny turtle was rescued by Jeff’s daughter, Rose, who was a counselor at Camp Nesbit in Watton, for the Lake Linden-Hubbell Sixth graders. Rose was the official lifeguard on the waterfront at camp and she took several newly hatched turtles off the beach, before swimmers could step on them. Way to go, Rose!

Michigan Rocks shares a rock polishing, then slabbing and acid treatment on a Chain Coral. The result is quite unique and interesting!

I love all of these, but I always love
cemetery pictures. And Fritz with the
plane is awesome too. Very nice set.

These are such stunning pics and I love the etched
rock.
