We all know by now what an adventurer Fritz the wonder dog is, as he’s always taking his humans exploring around the Keweenaw and beyond. Today’s escapade took Fritz and Jeff Dennis to the Portage Lake Canal to do some paddling around the Ranger III where its docked between trips to Isle Royale. The Ranger looks pretty big when you’re checking it out from a kayak like that. I’m thinking maybe Fritz will be trying to talk Jeff into a bigger boat after looking at those other ones tied up along the dock there, also. When we had a boat, we always talked about having the two-foot-itis...meaning we were always dreaming of one just two feet longer. Fritz also navigated Jeff for a paddle around the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, maybe sizing up the clearance in case they get that two-foot-itis, too.

Kristin Ojaniemi joined NMU students who led the first Marquette City Nature Challenge. They were looking for biodiversity at Harlow Lake. At the end of the video it gives a webpage to check our more about the Challenge and the local results. You can find that webpage by clicking here: Marquette City Nature Challenge

WOW...that ship is huge looking at it from Fritz's
viewpoint! When I hear the horns, I check Tech's
webcam page, it's got the Lift Bridge on it, watch
it go under the bridge, then check the College Ave
View and watch till it leaves. Then later, there
are solar cameras at Isle Royale...and the Mott
Island Dock is the first cam, and the Ranger sits
there. Lit up at night...really cool!

I wish I could trade bodies with Fritz for a day or
two!

These are amazing. Fritz is one lucky
dog. I love the one where he's
practically right on top of the boat.
So cool.

Another cool Fritz-arama
set!
I’ll bet he said “Bow-Wow”
in the third pic.
“ If you're blue and you
don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where
fashion sits?
Puttin' on the Fritz!”

Hi
Fritz looks intimidated when he's looking at the bow
of the Ranger. I might be, too.

The MTU Mt. Ripley webcam, located at the Houghton Waterfront Park, just happened caught Fritz and Jeff.
