Laurie Bashaw recently headed out to Presque Isle Harbor in Marquette when Lake Superior was putting on quite a show and she captured her in all her glory! That’s the Presque Isle Harbor Breakwater Lighthouse off in the distance. From what I found online, this lighthouse flashes a red light at a focal plane of fifty-six feet and has been automated since sometime in the 1970’s. Anyway, back to Lake Superior, she was pretty stirred up this day and the splashes against the break wall there were quite impressive. Nice captures, Laurie!

On a different, but similar day, Shannon over at 906 Images, recorded a video of Lake Superior, also stirred up and rocking and rolling in the Marquette area. Shannon commented that “Lake Superior calms the soul.” I guess no matter if she’s putting on a show or her waters are still and calm, she does soothe those of us who love the Big Lake.

water until it went over
the side and on to the
floor.
