What fun pictures today. Jeff Dennis is always being creative with capturing photos of the deer on their Little Traverse Bay Beach and this time, he timed it just right for Fritz and him to be out in the kayak when the deer were there on the beach. I love it!
The bottom two shots make me happier than you know...we’ve had a large flock of turkeys for a good portion of the winter, that my hubby has been feeding. They took the place of the deer that we normally feed until the snow gets too deep for them and they head out to the deer yards, maybe even to Jeff’s beach. And Jeff told me that the turkeys leave the beach around the time the deer arrive for the winter. Well, the past couple weeks, we haven’t seen the turkeys, but the deer are back this past week, so we swapped critters again, as the turkeys are back on the beach and Jeff remarked that the deer have mostly left again. So now we’re back to feeding the deer here at our farm.
Jeff made a video from the kayak, of the deer on the beach. Fritz was such a good boy, no barking and he just relaxed and watched the deer. Nice to see the snow and ice gone from the beach there, too.

What a beautiful day to be on the lake. And the view makes it even better.

When I fed critters in Baraga, that's exactly how the deer acted when the turkeys came in. The big Tom would march back and forth and make sure the girls ate first...when they were done, the deer were allowed in. Mother Nature is so interesting.
