We’re checking out two of the Keweenaw beaches today, with E. Neil Harri. We start at Great Sand Bay with a walk down the stairway and then a look up and down the beach. Plenty of sand so far this year, as the water levels of Lake Superior are down a bit right now, despite having had over 300” of snow. From what Neil said, the lack of ice cover during the winter months, allows for evaporation of the water and it’s the spring rain, more than the snow that brings the levels of the lake back up.
Next we head to Eagle River and here again there is much more beach than last year, due to the low levels of the Big Lake. So for now, there’s more beach to enjoy, we just have to wait for the temperatures to warm UP, both the air and the water to really enjoy it.
We wrap up this tour, with a look at the Eagle River Falls. Now that the snow is melting at a faster rate, the falls are really running. Luckily, Neil recorded a video also, so we get to see and hear the spring melt in action.

Nice pix! Thanks, Mr. Harri. The video was nice, however I could only view it as a picture with the sound of the falls… there was no movement of the water cascading down.

If that isn't a sight for sore eyes, I don't know what is. Simply beautiful!

Huh! The video is working now. My bad.

What a difference a few inches low makes. All the rest of the Great Lakes are WAY high by +11, +27 and +34 inches when last reported a week ago.
Mr. Harri has the best gigs or makes the best ones for himself.
Alex, That was just your internet permanently buffering.
