That Fritz sure is a well traveled pup and he keeps Jeff and Chris Dennis hopping with adventure after adventure. He recently took them to the Ottawa National Forest in Ontonagon County to check out the O Kun De Kun Falls, north of Bruce Crossing. It’s one of the largest waterfalls in Ontonagon County, and is located on the Baltimore River. The bridge in the photos takes you over this river and it looks like it was tricky to cross this time of year. Jeff said you don’t need snowshoes right now, but if you go off the trail you’re going to sink up to your knees. He also said it was a bit icy and slippery in spots. He didn’t wear cleats, but Chris did and he said she still fell once. So if you head there this time of year, be prepared.
Jeff also recorded a video of the rushing water there. You can see the bridge spanning the Baltimore River in the video, too! If you’re wondering about the name of the falls, it’s named after an Ojibway Chief.

The earth is a living thing.
Mountains speak, trees sing, lakes can think, pebbles have a soul, rocks have power.
