The Baraga School Cross Country and Track & Field teams held their 2nd annual Turkey Trot fundraiser this past Saturday and had over 70 people at the starting line this year. This fundraiser helps the teams to purchase equipment, uniforms and other supplies that keep the teams ready for competitions. All the money raised goes back into their cross country and track programs. You can tell by all the smiles in Diane Richard’s photos here today, that it’s great fun for all involved and a wonderful community and team bonding experience.

I wasn’t able to find a video from this year’s event, but have one from their first Turkey Trot last year done by WJMN Local 3 TV. This year was just about the same, except no snow and about low 40’s, so it was a bit warmer, too.

for the word Baraga…does anyone
know if the way that it’s pronounced

Well, that's an interesting point Alex, i've never heard Baraga pronounced any other way! Can you show us how else you've heard it pronounced? Something like Ba RA ga? What crowd were you hanging with? LOL!!!

It's pronounced... C A S I N O :=)) Seriously, the
way the news caster says it, is the only way I've
heard it and that includes all the folks I used to
call on in BCHS (Hospital employees).

I've heard it pronounced:
Bearaga and Bara-Ga with emphasis on the "Ga"

And Donna, did you mean the Diane
in the fourth pic or the young girl, #68
in the third pic?
