Back on November 3rd, Deb Simons shared some beautiful fall photos on the Covered Road. Fast forward a couple weeks and Barbara Bouwkamp reports that there’s not a leaf to be found on the trees there now, so I guess for the winter months, it’s the Un-Covered Road. Although the branches still do reach over the road, just not as much of a tunnel effect. Still pretty in my opinion, as the bare trees line the sides of the road like sentinels guiding you along the way and making sure you’re safe and on the right path. The snow on the sides of the road, may or may not be gone at this point, but it will make a return appearance, not to worry.

We wrap up this week, with another Copper Harbor classic from Steve Brimm. An Iconic Spot out at the tip of Hunter’s Point, looking across to Porter’s Island. Lake Superior seems to be a bit stirred UP with waves washing over the rocks and making a bit of Big Lake music, too.

Wow, what a contrast to November 3!

Last night we posted the December shipping schedule for Christmas pasties, and already this morning we see it is quickly filling up. Much simpler pricing this year, and FedEx has dropped the residential surcharge. Thanks to all the pasty lovers in the USA who have kept this project going all these years!

Steve Brimm's relaxing videos sure go well with the first cup of morning coffee!

Lonely set…the leaf leaves.

Wow! What a change from the last time we drove
that road. I must admit I much prefer the leaves.
We know what's coming.

They do plow a part of that road in the winter.
There is a farm out there, and they plow to them. I
don't know which side they come in from tho. lol
Imagine that one! Holy wha....

Me and Lou took a little spin yesterday. There are
a few leaves here and there....but it's mostly
sticks/branches. It's still beautiful.

I guess Winter has finally arrived.

At Hunter's Point, it seems like it might be possible to wade across to the island, on a calm day of course.

I agree Mary, i see beauty in these pictures. The contrast of the greys and browns to the bright glowing yellows of Deb's pictures makes me appreciate the changing seasons. I appreciate bright days more because of the somber days of November.

Great pics & video. Marty and I just got back from
a quick trip U.P. to the Keweenaw. We even stopped
in really quick to say hi to Mary & Jim on
Thursday, which we really enjoyed and my pal,
Marty got to meet them.

It was a school day of course, so I couldn't
congratulate "THE WRECKER" and the fine season he
and his teammates had this year. I nicknamed their
grandson, the wrecker and officially adopted him
as my nephew! lol Alex is a fine young man and
next year is his senior year and those who play
against him best get out of the way! Now I just
need to see him in green & gold and playing for
the Cat's in a couple of years on a full ride!!

One last thing, we got to Copper Harbor later that
afternoon and the thermometer outside the General
Store, registered 64 degrees, it was absolutely
incredible!! Great short trip for sure.
