Don Afman, also known on the Pasty Cam as D.A.(Midwested), was recently camping here in the U.P. visiting several locations checking out the fall colors. He said Bond Falls is an “of course” stop and looking at his shots from there, you can see why. With the steady flow of water from the hydroelectric dam operated by UPPCO, it’s always enjoyable. Don snapped several angles of the falls so we get the full effect from all sides, including a selfie shot giving us a good look at the man behind the camera, too. It’s always nice to put a face to the names of folks. Hi Don!

We get treated to a video of the falls that day, too. The sounds of the water as it’s rushing over the rocks is impressive... the next best thing to being there.

Wonderful pictures. I think we probably have
all of these angles as well, lol. There's
one more that I have that is my favorite
Bond Falls picture. But, as Don knows, I'm
not very good with computers. So I can't
figure out how to share it here. But
seriously, it's one of my favorite
waterfalls. Don did a great job with them.
We meant to get there but you can't do
everything.

The video was mesmerizing.

I return back UP almost every year. A few things change but most stay the same. I return to the old but always find new things and places. And there are so many locations I've not seen yet. I arrived just at the beginning of Autumn but after 10 days the prospect of freezing cold once again sent me home, just at peak color. (I need to better winterize the trailer to keep the water system from freezing.)

This year I scored 4 Lake Trout dinners, 2 dining out and 2 I cooked myself (bought not caught, see pic below) and ate at the campfire. But it's really hard to beat the Ambassador Greek pizza with some added homemade Italian sausage. Fabulous!


Bond Falls was my last official stop on the day I headed home. Mostly evergreens there so never a lot of color.

Even though the camera was on a tripod, capturing 60 seconds worth is still challenging. Those familiar know the boardwalk. One must either climb down from it or patiently wait for foot traffic to subside as that will jostle the camera.

I put the water fall videos on the big screen TV and turn on auto repeat.

D.A. You look great and so do the pics & video! We
were at Bond Falls this year too, I could make a
stop there every year it's that nice! Glad you
were able to get U.P. and enjoy it! From the looks
of it and the food too.... I would say it was a
successful trip! Two Thumbs U.P.!! Way to go!

Going thru my annual tests at the U this week and
next. Had my Cat Scan & Echo today, waiting to
hear what my Doc's say. More to come...

Deb, I can't figure out how to load a photo either
apparently, I ask MS Mary... speaking of that, she
was kind enough to put a pic of Finn on my
profile, he was all crashed out in the RV after
playing all day in the Keweenaw lol. He too loves
the Yoop! (Like the rest of us lol)

UC, yes, Mary's my savior. She's put my
profile pix up there every time. I've given
up lol.
