Jean Dessellier told me that she loves picking apples and baking with them, but the ones already on the ground go to the deer they feed in their back yard and at their camp for the deer as well. She added that they have to feed their deer visitors to keep them healthy.

It sure looks like they have a good crop of apples this year. I’d like to reach through the computer screen and pick one of those red ones. I can just feel the crunch of that first bite into a home grown apple with no chemicals or pesticides included.

Speaking of biting into something...how about that apple pie Jean baked for her hubby to enjoy. Not to mention the apples all cut up and seasoned in her crock pot for a batch of applesauce. Her kitchen must have had some glorious smells coming out of it.

We head to the historic town of Central in the Keweenaw to take part in a delicious legacy that current residents enjoy still today. When the time is right in late September, early October, the Keweenaw Historical Society helps arrange a community pressing to make fresh Apple Cider the old fashion way.

Awesome pictures of those apples. We went on
our side by side to gather apples for our
deer as well. The neighbor's apple tree ran
out. We give them carrots as well. These
apples really look scrumptious.

Interesting apple cider video. I enjoyed
watching it.

I wonder what happened at 2:52 when the press "spit back" some apple bits.

Alex,
The video plays fine on my iPhone 11.

Me too, Donna, and my cell phone is a flip phone..... I just won't climb into the whole social media arena. Too much real life to enjoy while I can.

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 - 12:05 pm:

Hi
I love the apples--to me, they are as tempting as
chocolate.

George & Donna, I'm similar. I have a flip-style
cell phone but use it only for phone calls, and
usually turn it off when I've finished. My land-line
is my main phone, & the phone number I give out.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 - 12:47 pm:

I'm with you folks! Having worked my entire career in telecommunications i can tell you relying on a cellphone alone is not an option i choose.

The apples look great and the process makes you appreciate our forefathers even more, doesn't it?
