The skies around the Copper Country are ever changing, no matter the time of day, but recently two photographers captured a “good morning rainbow” (from Kierstin Waara) and a sunrise coloring the Portage Canal and the Isle Royale Ranger III (from Debbie Jarve). With views like these to start the morning, your day can’t be anything but good, through and through.

We get another look at the Viking Octantis Luxury Cruise Ship today, from Andrea Guerriero over at DRE Designs – Great Lakes Marine Products. The Octantis didn’t make its originally scheduled stop in Houghton last Wednesday, due to high winds being a hazard to transporting passengers to shore, but Andrea recorded a video of her sailing upbound on the St. Mary’s River. She even captured a passenger who is one of her followers, waving at her from the ship, along with the folks in the Pilot House giving her a hello wave!

Just got home from Pine Knob. Aunt Vic and I just
saw Robert Plant & Allison Krauss, great concert. I
believe they're headed to Chicago or Indy next.
Highly recommend seeing the concert.

it's docked in Houghton there. I always
thought the Queen is out of Copper Harbor to which I
once danced to on it's return trip from the Island.

Oops...my mistake, Davis S. is correct, that's the Ranger III, not the Queen in the second photo. I knew that, but my brain and fingers weren't working together when I typed that title and my notes. I corrected it in my notes, but am unable to change the photo title. Thanks for catching that, David.
