We’re back outdoors with Beth Jukuri today, enjoying the winter wonderland we live in. I dare say, Beth seems to have the perfect spot for skiing and it’s nearby her home to boot. The trails she gets out on aren’t groomed, so she breaks the way herself, but oh my, just look at the scenery that surrounds her. Beautifully untouched open fields to make tracks across, gliding alongside the river and through a stand of pine trees, it doesn’t get much better than this for enjoying the winters UP North. Even on the cold days, you can bundle up in layers and stay warm as toast. Getting out there on skis, snowshoes, skates, or for a walk with cleats on your boots for traction, will help to make the winter months pass quicker.

Snowmobiling is a favorite pasttime for many folks UP North, too. Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula Facebook page shares that the Portage Lake Lift Bridge is open to snowmobiles again, with the bottom portion prepared with snow for safe crossing of the canal without going on the unsafe ice. Get out and enjoy the winter!

Pics are beautiful...that video is impressive.
Didn't realize the work that goes into making sure
snowmobiles cross safely!

The Winter snows certainly add brightness to what would be a drab brown landscape! Even when the clouds move in the snow adds light to the world.

I see the PAUL R.TREGURTHA has tucked into Little Traverse Bay and anchored to wait out the gales! Maybe someone can get some pictures of her - without losing a drone this time!

Very beautiful pictures. I'm finding that
being retired is not a bad way to spend the
winters around here. I could do without the
snow every single day, lol. But back in
Annandale, MN, they're having below zero
temps. I'd rather have the snow. There have
been days outside shoveling that I've
actually enjoyed the huge flakes coming down
and temps in the teens and 20's. It's
almost fun.

Enjoyed the video also.
