Saturday morning we recorded our first official snowfall of the season here UP North. We start off with of photo from Laurie Bashaw of her Ishpeming backyard covered in white. At the time of her picture, it looks like a couple inches had accumulated.

Meanwhile, in Laurium, Judy Byykkonen snapped a couple shots of her deck and yard. Looks about the same amount of snow outside her door, too. It also looks like Zelda was waiting patiently to get out there and run in the new fallen snow.

Looking at the forecast for the rest of the week, it doesn’t look like this first snow is quite here to stay. I’m sure the hunters would like snow for tracking, but I’m OK with it holding off for a bit longer before we’re completely into winter weather. We’ve been lucky so far, to not have a bunch of snow already.

We’ve shared today’s video before, but with the first snowfall, everyone has to learn how to drive all over again and this one is a classic. Rumor has it, that this was actually one of our friend's sons driving the car, so that makes it every better! Make sure you slow down and drive safe... don’t make any left turns like this!

Only in the UP would you not get nervous at
sliding on the ice like that. I've made a
complete circle once in making a turn on the
ice in Minnesota. I thought I would wet
myself. Thankfully nobody got hurt, because
it was in pretty heavy traffic with people
dropping their kids off at school. Whew!!
