Nancy Haun spotted these deer on Town Road in Skanee. She said she was not sure if the fawns were twins or if both does were the mothers. Since the fawns were hanging together, she figured they must be twins. Either way, the two does are sticking pretty close to the fawns, so they have four eyes watching that they stay safe. We enjoy watching the fawns frolicking in our fields with the ‘eagle’ eyes of their Mom making sure they’re not in any danger.

This week on Facebook, someone posted a photo of a deer standing right on the edge of Taquamenon Falls and the story with it is that the deer actually went over the falls, popped back up at the bottom of the falls, started swimming and survived. Today’s video is not the same deer, but a different one that went over the falls and survived. The video is a bit jumpy with all the excitement, but it’s pretty amazing they can survive that and swim off to shore. Video credit to Lucas Veith.

Well returned back home on the 10th to take care
of a few health issues. Trip was cut short but a
great trip it was!!
My only regret is that we didn't get to visit
with Mary D. and Jim while we were in the
Keweenaw, our schedules just didn't align. We
hope to be back up in late Sept. and early Oct.
for the Fall colors and hopefully get together
then!!
Off to the Doc's today for still lingering blood
issues and not feeling just right.
Raining hard in SE MI this morning, we're doing
the backstroke on our roads today. Recent storms
have been incredible.
