Barbara Bouwkamp and her hubby, Tom went out picking Thimbleberries in Bucky (their Side by Side UTV) recently and they picked enough to make some homemade Thimbleberry Jam, she said. The pail she used for picking (in the last photo) was her Grandmother’s and she said she thought of her while picking that day.

Berries weren’t the only thing they found, though. That yellow spider tried to tag along when they got back into Bucky to go back to the camp. She did say that she found out later that it’s a bad spider and wished she had squished it, as she said its bite is similar to brown recluse bites but not as bad. I couldn’t verify that info though and the only yellow spider I could find was a Goldenrod Crab Spider, but I’m not sure if that’s what this yellow guy is or not. So to be on the safe side, stay clear if you find one.
