We’re exploring places along County Road H58 from Munising to Grand Marais today, with Patrick Hugener from Head in the Clouds Photography. Patrick takes us to a view where off in the distance you can see the Au Sable Lighthouse. Then we stop at the Grand Sable Dunes, pretty impressive with how steep they look and how far off they go. Next Patrick stops at the mouth of the Sable River and then a view from a scenic overlook, with Lake Superior looking beautifully calm. The last stop for today’s adventure, was for what Patrick labeled as Federal Forest Highway 13 Jaywalkers. I sure chuckled at that description of these two deer crossing the road. Nice excursion.

The video is from Five Aces Media, their April version, which they labeled as... ”Spring is just around the corner. The animals are becoming more active. Then just when you think winter is over, a big snowstorm hits.” Oh boy, I sure hope we don’t have any more snowstorms this year.

Hi
I was only there once, but I remember the views in
the top two photos. My family and I went up in the
lighthouse as part of a guided tour. Great
memories.

Exciting pix!
"April, come she will, when streams are ripe and
swelled with rain."

Alex, the streams were indeed swelled with rain
in the video.

I read an article in Sunday's paper, though,
that the Great Lake water levels are down due
to a comparatively dry winter. According to the
article, Lake Superior will be 1 foot above the
long term average this summer but well below
record levels. Lakes Michigan and Huron will be
2 feet above the long term average and about
one foot below record level. As the writer
rather dramatically puts it "So Lakes Michigan
and Huron will have higher-than-average water,
but not devastating, damaging levels".

Really great pics. Those videos are magic.

Amazing pics & video!! Lake Superior could use a
lower lake level this year!! The shoreline was
devastated last year around Little Betsy and the
rest of the Keweenaw.... had to be a record year
for mine rock being put in place to save many
dwellings!!

Beautiful pictures - anyone who has ever been there will recognize the locations immediately and probably has their own versions. The area has had so much more traffic now that the road has been paved - not like the good old days!

The Five Aces Media vids are gorgeous. I resist the temptation to watch all of them and wait until Mary posts the current month to savor them.
