While Laurie Bashaw’s grandsons were visiting, they ventured off to Rock, north of Escanaba, to check out the Hall Sunflower Farm. This farm boasts around 20 acres of Sunflowers, which they actually grow to harvest the seeds, but while they’re waiting for them to ready, they share their bright yellow expanse with the public, free of charge, donations are accepted. Good thing Laurie snapped a number of photos of their adventure, because the sunflower season just ended, so don’t head there until next year now. In the meantime, enjoy the excursion vicariously through Laurie’s Grandsons and their antics on the farm.

Jason Asselin made the trek to Rock earlier this month, too and made a video while walking around the expansive field of sunflowers. He also takes us to Iron Mountain for a look at the Pine Mountain Ski Jump to check out the progress of the rebuilding project there.

I can't help but smile when I look at those happy-face sunflowers and the video was interesting.

Nice review and video. Jason looks like my kind of guy...more hair on the bottom half of his head than the top. Unfortunately, I've had to shave my beard recently in order for the mask to fit more snugly, first time in 44 years. I even shocked my 31 year old son.

As usual, these Pasty reviews motivate my curiosity so I did a little Google Earth exploring in and around the Hall farm. Just 2 miles due east along the main road there was a marker labelling a corn maze location called the Hayes Corn Maze. But the thing that caught my eye was the extra terrestrial message that was being formed (apparently using hay bales, maybe?). At first glance I thought it spelled out "MP's Tire" but upon further review the message is not yet completed. I'm not sure what the final message will be. Any ideas?

Here's the overview of the 2 locations.

D.A....I have the same issue, I trim my beard every time I go out, what's next? And as far as your tire theory goes, I need a set of Michelin's...maybe we can team up for that Hairless Guy Discount.
