Cathy McKenzie found a peaceful, quiet place to relax in the evening and enjoy the setting sun. We’ve had a few warmer days, hitting right around 50°, but the evenings are a bit colder, so sitting on the shores of Lake Superior to watch the sunset on that clear night, required a bonfire to keep warm. The best thing about this type of scene, is that you don’t have to worry about lots of other people there with you, because most will not brave the colder nighttime temps to sit on the beach at Great Sand Bay to wait for the sun to set.

I have to say, the fire looks quite inviting, with the golden colored sky beyond it. And then after the sun had gone down, the shades of the sky were outstanding, not to mention the calm of the Big Lake. Check out the sliver of the moon, too. It’s hard to beat scenes like this.

Luckily, we get to watch part of the sunset and listen to the waves quietly rolling in, thanks to Cathy making a video as the event took place.

That fire is setting the sky ablaze.

Charlie,
I still have a couple of PC Pasties in the freezer and can't find the heating instructions. I know there are 2 different times/temperatures based on frozen or already thawed. Lastly, which one provides preferred results, thaw first or not?

D. A. (Midwested),
I thought i'd just pull one of the freezer and send the baking info to you, but alas! The last batch we baked was the last we had! So i went to order more and see that they are back ordered for the rest of this season!! Noooo!!! This is going to be a hard few months until Autumn!

But as i recall you bake them at 350 for 50-60 minutes when frozen. We don't let them thaw so we can't provide input about which way is best.

D.A. (Midwested)...
From the "Questions" page (link at the bottom of the page) or here: Frequently Given Answers

How long do I bake the pasties?

Bake 50 minutes at 350º if frozen. Bake unfrozen for 30-45 minutes at 350º. Results are better in a regular oven over a microwave. Be sure to remove the pasties from the plastic bag before reheating. Test with a fork before eating to see if they are heated all the way through.

D.A. , I've also found if you bake them wrapped in parchment paper, they maintain the moisture much better as well. Just my opinion... :=))

Thanks Mary and everyone.

UC, I was thinking the same thing although I think aluminum foil should also work.

My question about which is better, to thaw first or not, is still open although I speculate if thawed first then the proper heating can be better controlled if thawed first thus maintaining a more uniform freshness.
