As I type these notes, the Keweenaw is under a winter storm warning until early Tuesday morning, which is predicted to dump up to 16” to 18” of snow on us, with 45 mph wind gusts. So winter isn’t quite over for us yet.

Today’s photos were snapped by Jean Dessellier on Friday. She found these icy formations on the shores of Lake Superior, still hanging on and forming icicles that resembled long fang-like teeth. The icy coating on the branches in the third photo, make it look like that’s a glass tree and if the “glass” were to break, the branches would break off, too. The beauty of what nature creates, never ceases to amaze me.

Jean said the video featured here is one of her favorite spots. She made this video just about a year ago today, the Traprock Valley Falls on Township Park Road. It’s not a very big one, but it’s a beauty just the same.

Nice pic's & video, looks like winter is trying to hang on, especially if the Keweenaw gets that snowstorm!! A couple good storms before the 1st of May and I might win the "snow total contest" on Josh Stein's website (joshsteinland.com). His website & pasty.com is a daily must visit for anyone fond of the Yoop!!

We're expecting winds in SE MI of 55 mph+ today, batten down the hatches!!

Nice to see blue sky and blue water. If I get hit with a 55 mph blast, I'll B on my rumple, Stiltskin.

Death of the Old".....gotta get more to get rid of
