When Nancy Haun looks out her window lately, this is what she gets to see. The deer are moving around Skanee again and visiting her backyard in large numbers. On the day she took this photo, she said there were thirty and she also expressed her wish for Spring to hurry UP, so they would have green grass and such to eat. I’m with Nancy on that one, not that I eat green grass, but I’m ready to see some green instead of white. Her second photo was after the sun decided to brighten things for those backyard deer.

Nancy’s third photo was a lone Goldfinch on her feeder, which she said was peacefully eating seed until a bully Bluejay came and chased it away. Notice how this time of year, the Goldfinch’s are beginning to turn back to the bright yellow they wear in the summer. Spring must be on its way.

Nancy also made a video of the deer following her husband when he went outside to their barn. He had just fed the birds and she figured they were hoping for some food, too.

It snowed here all day yesterday and it's going to stay around a while. What with various lockdowns around the country a nice Spring warm-up would certainly raise some people's outlook.

So many good stories of people helping each other - big tips, buying gift certificates to local companies, and providing food for those who can't get out. AND Calumet Electronics providing the circuit boards for the respirators! SISU!!!!

Well, sort of stuck at home---musing.

Nice photos and video. I guess if I had those deer in my backyard, I'd probably be feeding them until the snow was at a point they could survive on their own. That being said, it would be nuts, certain vegetables and fruits they can digest without harm. Come Spring, a few loud rounds from my 357 in the air and off you go friends back in the woods!
