Brita Haapala from Brita Caroline Photography, was on hand at the district playoff game between the Calumet Copper Kings and the Menominee Maroons at Aggasiz Field in Calumet this past Saturday afternoon. She captured the first photo of the ROTC trying to keep warm while waiting to present the colors for the start of the game and the National Anthem. Nice to see young people interested in serving our country like this. Future Veterans in the making.

Calumet came out on top of this game, 39-14, so they move on in the playoffs as District Champs, playing Glen Lake (Maple City, MI) on Saturday, November 16th. Go Copper Kings!

The other photos are from the Calumet Copper Kings Athletics Facebook page. They asked folks to come and help on Friday, to clear the snow from the bleachers and to help with plowing the field in preparation for the game on Saturday. The community pulled together to get it done for the Copper Kings.

Today’s video is a tribute and thank you to all of our Veterans and active military serving at present. The description for the video says: “The US Armed Forces Medley is a combination of the anthems of the various branches of the United States Military, consisting of the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force and the Marines.” Make sure you thank all the Veterans you come in contact with today! It’s the least we can do for the sacrifices they and their families have made. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, VETERANS!!

P.S. Don’t forget that the 2020 Pasty Cam Calendars are ready for ordering, along with U.P. Pasties. You can order pasties for the day after Thanksgiving, you know you won’t want to cook after the big turkey dinner you prepared. Click here to order: 2020 Pasty Cam Calendar and Pasties
