Laurie Bashaw and her hubby, Ed were making a tour around the U.P. with their camper. One of their stops was at Bonanza Falls on the Big Iron River, south of Silver City. You can see there wasn’t much water flowing over the falls, but Laurie said and I agree, it’s still pretty there. The layers of rock slabs in the second photo is quite an interesting shot, too. I’ll have to add this to my “must see” list now.

The video of the Bonanza Falls was published two years ago, there was some water flowing that year. Make sure your speakers are turned up, so you can hear the waterfalls, too.

The hunter has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his acts, they are dictated by his own conscience, rather than a mob of onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact.

Ya know we were just in that area and we didn't
take the time to stop and take a look at those
falls. It was getting late after taking the
chairlift ride there. Next time we're there
though, we'll have to take that in.

Watching the Bonanza Falls video:

Kinda puts you right there, doesn't it?
So much so that what immediately came to mind for me was something like this:

"Maybe if I get closer — right up to the edge — I can get a better view …

"Oops, wet rock! …

"Slippery rock! …

"Whoa! …

"Splash!"

Deb,

It's really easy to get to. Easy to overlook too as I've never been there.

When you were "in the area" did you get to any of the many falls on the Black River?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 - 05:06 pm:

D.A. We did the whole Black River Falls thing 2
years ago. It was so much fun. That area is just
so beautiful. I'm really glad we did them then,
because I don't know that my legs could handle all
of the steps up from the falls. But even without
going to the falls, it's a beautiful area for a
picnic and just spending time on the shores of
Lake Superior.
