So, I have to ask this question to start off today’s Pasty Cam. If we’re visiting Lost Lake, with photos from David Swykert, Jr. and Melanie Hakala Rossi (respectively), is the lake still lost? This remote lake is located approximately 6 miles southeast of Copper Harbor, in Keweenaw County. It can be accessed by four wheelers but not right to the lake, you have to park and walk in a short distance. Well worth it for the peace and quiet surrounding Lost Lake. Melanie didn’t report if David was a successful fisherman the day she snapped him with his line in the water. I hope he caught a nice Brook Trout.

The tip of the Keweenaw is home to many remote gems. Four wheel drive is a necessity to access many of them. High Rock Bay in today’s video is one of them, as it’s at the end of the road at the tip of the Keweenaw.

I love High Rock Bay. Back in my youth I would hitch hike to Copper Harbor then hike out to the point for a few days of tent camping and hiking. Keystone Bay was also a favorite for camping then. I remember stumbling upon the large pads of concrete just north of High Rock Bay and wondered what they were. They were not marked then. No one knew what they were. Ironically, I thought to myself that these would make decent launch pads for small rockets.

I wish I could still hike like that. Oh well, I've got my ATV now and hope to be returning soon.

Great Pics and really nice video! One of our favorite places to go 4 wheelin, and what a great place to go camping along there from the Rocket Launch Site, High Rock, and Keystone. Also a very nice ride by boat and Jet Ski's and while you're out there to cruise around the island.

D.A. enjoy your trip out there on your ATV, I'll be driving the F150 out there the last week of July as well.

Very nice pix and I loved the video! The name High Rock brings back memories of a Pink Floyd concert that I went to back in the 70s, man.
