It’s a great time to get out and fish the Keweenaw streams, no bugs yet and according to Benji Hainault, the fish this past weekend were biting really good. He had his son along as his fishing partner and he said they caught three or four that they could have kept, but they released everything they caught. Benji also mentioned that it’s nice to get out there this time of year, before the high grass grows, making these streams harder to get to. Nice catch there, buddy! And what a wonderful Father/Son memory in the making right there.

Today’s fishing video was made a couple years ago and published by MQT Adventures. While out scouting new fishing spots in the U.P., a big brown trout attacks this fisherman’s spinner. Exciting stuff!

Reminds me of fishing the Chocolay River outside of Marquette and camping. A good buddy of mine who is a big fisherman and a few others were camping on the side of the river, he caught dinner for everyone. Cooked over the campfire in Olympia beer and scrambled eggs. Sleeping under the stars! Another great memory and advantage of attending NMU!!
