Today’s Bald Eagle photos are a good example of why it pays to have a good distance lens. Aladino Mandoli was in the Keweenaw Bay area and captured these outstanding shots of both our National Bird and National Animal for the United States. The Bald Eagle was keeping its “eagle eye” on Aladino, watching every move he made while snapping these photos, until it had had enough and took off in flight. What a majestic creature!

We also join the Michigan Avian Experience, courtesy of Mlive, talking with Francie Krawcke about a Bald Eagle that flies at all the Eastern Michigan University football games.

Gorgeous pictures, and great video....even if the
bird gotta go. (you'll see) What a sound too! I
don't know if I can say I've actually heard one.
I've seen lots...way cool!

Nice pix, and cool video, I want a Bald Eagle for a pet now!! :))

"So lay all your doubts aside, when you go to bed tonight,
My feathers have been ruffled and I'm ready for a fight
Just because I took awhile to fly don't mean that I don't care
When you feel the shadow crossing, the eagle's in the air
When you feel the shadow crossing, the eagle's in the air!! "

Some lyrics from John Denver's The Eagle and the
Hawk:

I am the Eagle, I live in high country
In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky
...And all those who see me and all who believe in
me
Cherish the freedom I feel when I fly

Hi
I saw a Bald Eagle at Seeney, years ago. While
we're talking song lyrics, here are some from John
Denver's the Eagle and the Hawk:

I am the eagle, I live in high country, in rocky
cathedrals that reach to the sky....
And all those that see me and all who believe in
me cherish the freedom I feel when I fly

Come the spread claws of the eagle"
