Upper Michigan is touched by three of the Great Lakes, with Lake Superior being the northern border and Lakes Michigan and Huron both bordering the southern portion of the U.P.. Our first archive photo was taken in Manistique, back in 2008, by Brenda Leigh. That sure is some sandy looking ice piled up along the breakwall and shore.

The second archive photo comes from Philip Odum in 2015. What a great shot of the Straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron converge at the Big Mac. The Great Lakes were so ice covered this year, that freighters were getting stuck in the ice and needing USCG Ice Cutters to get them off the Lakes for the winter months.

Terry Jones supplies our video today, from the winter of 2017 and a drone aerial view of the Manistique Lighthouse and shoreline on Lake Michigan.

Could be George!

Tomorrow isn't going to be much and maybe only 6" on
Saturday. But get out there and shovel it before it
freezes into a solid sheet on Sunday & Monday.
