Snow, snow and not as much snow in the archives today. We join Steve Pummill on a trek at the Tahquamenon Falls in 2002. What a beautiful sight before us on the walkway. There was plenty of snow that year, enough that Steve had to snowshoe to get where he did.

Sue Uren sent in the second photo back in 2013, after one of our big snow events. It had let up and was time to dig her way out. You can see why a snow blower is a necessity here in the Keweenaw, as that would be a lot of snow to be moving by hand with a Yooper Scooper or a shovel.

Then to the other extreme, we have a photo submitted by Darlene Vuorinen in 2015. You donít see rainbows so much during the winter months here in the Keweenaw, so when Darlene spotted this double rainbow, she raced in to get her camera, as she said they were fading fast. She took these at Great Sand Bay, where you can see there wasnít much snow around that year at this point.

For those of you that have never had to remove a good dumping of snow, check out todayís video from 2008. Snowblowing is a must if you have to move more than a couple inches of the white stuff.

I wouldn't mind if my snowblower rusted away in the garage due to non-use.

Now George L. (Yooperinct), don't sugar coat it!
Tell us how you really feel about snow! LOL!

As to the MO of the snow clearing operation in the
video, we do it a bit differently. We start in the
middle in case the wind blows some snow back on the
driveway. Then clear to the edges hoping the areas
you have cleared are still so when you get done.
Also clear part of the street up stream from your
driveway, so when the plow goes thru there is less to
be pushed back in by the plow.
