Here we are at the start of another month of checking back into the archives to see what the Pasty Cam and its myriad of photographers have shared in past 19 years. Today's theme is just Keweenaw beauty... which is pretty much the theme for every day's photos we've ever featured, but this day in the archives brings us to 2001, with a look past the corner of Charlie Hopper's home in Eagle River, a rare and beautiful sunrise rainbow. What a great way to start your day, with a view like that.

Our next beauty was snapped in 2013, by Jeremy Rowe. He captured the Northern Lights dancing over Copper Harbor. The lights from the town shine golden, while the Aurora Borealis lights make designs in the night sky…definitely Keweenaw beauty right there.

Completing today's trio of photos is one that Joe Kirkish shared just a year ago, in 2016. He was UP North in the Keweenaw checking out the colors on the Cliff Drive near Phoenix (we've been UP on the cliffs a few times in the past couple weeks), when he snapped this photo. There is so much that I love about this shot…the fall colors, the blue sky with the wisp of clouds, the reflections in the water and even the fence, it all adds up to beauty at its best here in the Copper Country.

Since we're on a beauty roll here today, let's continue it with a U.P. Fall color tour from 2014, recorded by Steven L. Johnson. I'm not quite ready to give up on Autumn and we've been getting so much precipitation and cold temperatures around these parts, this is my way of pretending it isn't almost winter UP North.

Very nice set of pix and the video was great! I especially liked the 5-dudes at lakeside...that's what I call retirement. I was trying to figure out what the gentleman was holding against the tree at 6:45 (timeline) in the video...any ideas?

I like the first picture of the Northern Lights and the homes setting the shoreline ablaze with light.
There are many electronic devices for various tree measurements. I would say the is the guy is holding one of them against the tree. My guess, and it is only a guess, is they are measuring the diameter of the tree.

I believe the instrument is an inclinometer and they are measuring the angle at which the tree is leaning.

I really enjoyed the trip back to Peterson's Fish Market for lunch, YUMMMMM.

I recognized the location of the field of hay bales at time 12:30. It's right on M-28 by Trout Creek, right before you get to Agate Falls (which was the next stop in the video). I took that same picture last month.

Alex,
I also noticed it appeared the 5 dudes were fans of Busch.
