When it comes to sledding in the Copper Country, one of the best places for a good downhill run is in Calumet at the Swedetown Trails. Aladino Mandoli takes us there with some of his family, little ones and big ones, too. That's the Chalet at the top of the hill in the first photo, with Connie, Dino's other half and her son, right in front. I'm not sure, but I think they're both standing there, working up the courage to head down the sledding hill.

It must have worked, because there goes Grandma Connie with one of the grandkids, who looks like she's anticipating some snow in the face or maybe she just doesn't want to see where this ride is going. The next grandkid took off on her own and kicked up considerable snow along her descent. I'm not sure if she's off the sled or if just her feet are, but either way, the look on her face screams out FUN!

Next down the hill was Connie's son and grandson, with what looks like the same smile on both of their faces, enjoying the ride together. And in case you're wondering if the kids were really having a good time or not, just look at the smile in the last photo. That picture is worth a thousand words for sure…to me it says get out there and make memories with the littles in your life while you can. Before you know it they won't be so little any more.

This is what it's all about!

It looks like three generations are enjoying a fun winter outing. They have better sliders than back when we had a piece of cardboard or a snow shovel.

Let's not forget the trays from your local college cafeteria!

When we'd get enough snow out here, we always made
a sledding hill behind our house. It wasn't real
steep or long, but the kids and I always had a
great time sliding. We made lots of memories, took
lots of pictures, and just enjoyed the day. Great
pictures. We finally have some snow. Maybe I can
talk my son into coming out and making a hill for
the kids and I. Thanks for sharing these. They
were so much fun to look at.
