Beautiful photos! I never tire of seeing Old Glory waving in the breeze!:)

By Richard Wieber (Flarich) on Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 11:34 am:

I, too, love to see our flag fly freely, but the times require us to not only fly the flag but to work at keeping it aloft. We shouldn't just sit back and be at ease but go out of our way to watch what is happening to our country, and do something about it. If not we won't need "old glory" because our country will have slipped beneath sands of history. Have a happy and safe 4th of July.

Well said, Richard! God bless America!

In total agreement, Richard!

By Leon Chaput (Mrleonx) on Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 03:02 pm:

We had a great memorial service for EddyFitz (Chaput) at the Fitz anchor site on Belle Isle this week. He will be forever watching the ships sail by along the Detroit River as they head on up to the Great U.P. he loved so much.
Thanks for all your visits with him throughout the years on this and the Boatnerd sites. You all became his friends as he was able to share his memories and times with!
He will be missed by all that knew him!
Bye Dad, Leon Chaput and family.

In Memory of EddyFitz

What an emotional day it must have been for you and your family, Leon, but what a wonderful way to remember your Dad. I for one always enjoyed reading your dad's posts here and on Boatnerd. He was a very interesting fellow! Best wishes to you and your family.

OH my, I'm sorry, Leon. I didn't know that
Eddyfitz passed. I always enjoyed him too. God
bless your family during this awful time.

Thanks for sharing this news with the Pasty family, Leon. What a grand and appropriate way to remember EddyFitz ~ may our Lord bless your family.

Leon--I still miss EddyFitz' posts. You had that memorial service in
just the right place. I can picture him looking to the North and
watching the freighters float by. RIP, EddyFitz. You were famous
for your thoughtful posts in my classroom. Thanks for sharing this
with us Leon.

By Leon Chaput (Mrleonx) on Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 11:33 pm:

Thanks to all for your kind words! It makes it better to know that we could share him with you while he was here and he will be missed by many!
Thanks again Yoopers! He loved that U.P!
The whole family has many great memories from our travels there as Ed always had an old Chippewa trick, tale or story to tell us growing up.
The Chaput Family!
