Along the trek from Copper Harbor to Calumet (and all the way to Miami if you're so inclined) you pass the site of the old Cliff mining town, just beyond Phoenix (not Arizona). One of my favorite shots on the Pasty Cam back in '98 was taken in this very spot. Note the differences: a shiny galvinized guard rail has replaced the old wooden posts... and notice how much the pine behind the rail has grown:

Speaking of Miami, here's a riddle:

Q: How many Floridians does it take to change a light bulb?

A: No one knows... they're still counting.

Cute. And from I read in this mornings news, the counting in Miami is about to enter the area of fraud.

My husband used this photo as computer wallpaper. At first glance, it looked like a terrible forest fire. I was releaved when I realized it was the sun's reflection. It is awesome!

Don't know if my message will "count" since it's coming from Florida ..... Nice photo. Almost makes me lonesome for some snow!

Headed for Florida later this week, I guess you could say down for the count! Really , just to deliver another snow bird. (Mom)
