This afternoon the sky is a hazy gray, while high above these dunes a big V of geese seem unsure of their direction. This scene happens to be the one I see during pauses in typing these words. Looking beyond the birches and maples on the sandy hills below us, the Lake stretches to the horizon, almost disappearing as gray meets gray.

We have had our share of sunny, colorful days in the Keweenaw this month, so I suppose we were due for something a little more drab. We’re debating about whether to drive over to the open house at Mount Bohemia on the other side of the peninsula. Perhaps someone who visits the controversial ski hill today will report on it in our Keweenaw Issues department. Also, any photos of the changes in the mountain would be interesting to see.

Is that a deer I see wandering across the dune? Oops.. gone before I could grab the Pasty Cam.

That scene was breathtaking! How much I miss seeing the Keweenaw in fall - maybe next year?
Your beautiful photos keep me going until I can get back for another visit!

What would I do with out this site? Found it via one of MTU's links 3yrs ago, and have been addicted ever since, you pics keep me close to my son now a senior at Tech.
Your photography is wonderful, just like a window into the day to day that my son calls normal and I call awsome! Keep up the good work.
