We continue our look back at the past 19 years of the Pasty Cam. So many photos of wildlife there are just too many to count…a few favorites appeared this day, starting with a bear stretching as far as it can reach to grab a bit of lunch at Jon Soper's feeding station back in 2010. This little bear was chased away three separate times and finally Jon had to take the feeders down for a few weeks. That did the trick, he didn't come back around after that.

Then the very next year, 2011, Deb Simons captured a deer in her Mom's Lake Linden backyard, doing the stretch to reach an apple treat right off the tree. Deb didn't chase this visitor away, though, just watched it grabbing a mid-afternoon snack.

One of the more uncommon appearances on the Pasty Cam has been a moose. Some people just dream of seeing one here in the U.P. or hear about it from others who have. That was Jean Dessellier, until a week or so ago on her way from Marquette, near Humboldt. She said there were quite a few folks watching this moose and she was able to get up-close and personal with a fixed 65 power zoom lens. Nice capture!

If you haven't seen one in person here in the U.P. yet, today's video is the next best thing. Filmed three years ago, this moose was dining in a marsh along US141. It doesn't seem to care that everyone is watching, just wades through the water, while munching away.

Nice video and pictures. I've seen a lot of deer
in my mom's back yard over the years, but that's
one of my favorite pictures. I've taken some of
triplets, also. I could sit and watch them for
hours. Love the bear, too. Though, I'm glad we
don't have to worry about that. And who wouldn't
love watching moose?

Driving home this week I stopped in front of a neighbor's house to watch a deer stretch like that, cock her head sideways and then she emptied their bird feeder with her tongue. Keeps them away from my Geraniums and Hostas maybe. I tried some commercial spray that so far has worked. It's made from rancid eggs, garlic and Thyme.
