We covered the storm last week that had Lake Superior all stirred up, but she wasn't only rocking and rolling here in the Keweenaw, as Frank Jezek shows us here in his photos today. These were taken from his yard in the Ontonagon area and you can see that the Big Lake was quite stirred up in that neck of the woods, too. You can tell by the amount of white froth out there that the waves were rolling in quite quickly, with not much interval between them. Frank added that the trees were bent over to 45 degrees all day and they lost most of their beach to the ravaging waves.

After all that wind and mess, the Harvest Moon still made an appearance, so Frank added one more photo for us to enjoy of that big orb in the sky, surrounded by a few lingering clouds. The calm after the storm you might say.

May Superior is predicting the Winter to come.:<

Amazing wave action going on there! I agree Shirley! We hardly had summer and already fall like weather is happening. No global warming here in Iowa! ha!

I was there to witness that storm in person. We spent that whole week in the Keweenaw on Big Traverse Bay. Those waves were amazing!!! The weather each day brought different cloud formations, changing colors in the sky, and winds that went from mild to crazy!!! It was wonderful to explore our favorite spots all over the peninsula. We had so much fun!

They're saying this was a "1000 year flood event"! And as of today there are some neighborhoods in Mesa that are still awash, mainly because the AZ DOT's freeway underpass pumping stations, canals and retention basins were designed for a 50-year flood event!

I have personally experienced three "100-year flood events" before this in over 44 years in Phoenix.

Fabulous photos! It was like that in Duluth, too. My co-worker were vacationing up there and she said you couldn't even breathe out there. Another storm coming in this week. Perhaps a drive to Duluth is in order for the weekend,

We were just talking about the weather yesterday. No summer to speak of here. Global warming has come and gone....well, it's gone, anyway.
